There are 89,000 charging outlets in the US as of 2022.
Mercedes has just announced plans to add 10,000 outlets with an app that allows its customers to book a location.
Tesla has 16,000 Outlets - an obvious advantage of buying a Tesla.
If we produce only EVs by 2035, we will need about 495,000 (public and office) outlets. The government has offered Federal Tax Credits to persuade businesses to install these outlets - How is it working? Have you noticed any new EV charging stations around you? I haven’t.
I have not noticed any new charging stations in my area - but then I am not looking for them as I probably will never own an EV. All of the EVs I have ever seen seem to be for smaller, younger people than I am and since I drive a GMC Yukon I doubt if there will ever be an EV that is its equal in comfort and range without costing more than my home. I also doubt if the country's electric grid will support EVs for everyone.
